United Arab Emirates, Dubai, December 8th 2013: UAE drifting star and Toyota EDT lead driver Ahmed Al Ameri put on a strong performance on his way to claiming second place in round 2 of Drift UAE which took place on Saturday at the grounds of Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi. As a result of yesterday's performance Toyota Emirates Drifting Team currently top the overall standings of Drift UAE. Al Ameri said, “It's really impressive how Drift UAE has grown despite it being only its third season. I am so excited to take part in the second round at Yas Marina after a long break I was etching for the new season to start and Yas Marina Circuit is the perfect place. Due to its fast turns and curves when you're drifting your car in Yas Marina Circuit you have to always take it to the limit which makes for really exciting races to the fans attending. We were not sure if the race was going to take place due to it being rescheduled, but I was ready and my Toyota 86 was up to the challenge we didn't face any major technical issues this weekend the car performed really well.” He further added, “The talent level of the drivers has increased along with the amount of the cars on the grid, which made getting today's result even more difficult and I had to work extra hard to get it. The organizers have done a really good job in increasing the popularity of the sport among motorsports fans in the UAE. I would like to thank Drift UAE for giving Toyota EDT's 86 the award of the best presented car for the 2012-2013 season.” added Al Ameri. Toyota EDT dedicates tonight's performance to all its sponsors and thanks them all for their continuous support and encouragement. Sponsors include Maxxis Tyres which provided Toyota EDT with Maxxis Z1 Drift professional drifting tyres, Extreme Performance and Emirates Motorsports Technologies which offered the team their technical support and supervision.
