The launch of LeapPad Ultra comes at a time where there is growing concern about children's exposure and ease of access to content on the web as well as a rise in accidental ‘in-app' purchasing, where children unknowingly download content to their parents tablets or smartphone devices at a cost, whilst they play. With LeapPad Ultra's parental controls, these concerns are eliminated.

With LeapPad Ultra, LeapFrog is launching LeapSearch powered by Zui, a secure and proprietary browser that lets children access and explore content they love in a closed environment that is easy to navigate. Children can use LeapSearch on their LeapPad Ultra to browse any videos, images and sites from the web that have been reviewed and approved by LeapFrog's Learning Team.

LeapPad Ultra also offers kid-safe peer-to-peer play across devices, when two or more LeapPad Ultra tablets connect locally. In the new Pet Pad Party app for example, children can communicate and play with their friends and siblings in a kid-safe environment with their own personalised pet avatars.
