Appointment Reinforces Company's Ambitions to Expand Operations in Qatar

DOHA, Qatar – November 5, 2013 – SAP MENA has announced the appointment of Mohamed Helmy as the   Country Manager for Qatar.

Reporting directly to Gergi Abboud, Managing Director, SAP Gulf, Helmy will play a significant role in supporting SAP's ambitious expansion in Qatar, which is one of the company's key strategic markets in the region. Helmy has more than 20 years top level IT industry experience and is expected to place a strong emphasis on catalyzing emerging innovations such as analytics, mobility, cloud and in-memory computing.

In particular, Helmy brings strong experience and leadership related to eGovernment, telecommunications, oil and gas, energy and utilities. He has held several senior leadership positions most recently in STRS where he managed its Middle East & Africa operations. In addition he has held senior roles at Cisco, smart-grid pioneers BPL Global, Oracle and Microsoft
