Tunis – Tunisia: 22 October 2013 – The eighth edition of the much anticipated North Africa Oil and Gas Summit brings together government entities, senior executive and decision makers from across the oil and gas industry and is being held in Tunis, Tunisia from 22 – 24 October 2013.

Supported by the Ministry of Industry, Tunisia; ETAP – Tunisia's National Oil Company; National Oil Company (NOC) Libya, ONHYM and SMH; the Summit provides a comprehensive overview of the industry by addressing the major issues faced by the upstream sector of the oil and gas industry.

Day one of the North Africa Oil and Gas Summit will commence by the Chief Energy Adviser from Shell reviewing the macro-economic opportunities within the oil and gas industry, followed by the Chief Operating Officer Consultancy Services from Oxford Economics analyzing unconventional resource development in Tunisia.

Moving forward, day one will see a distinguished panel of keynote speakers from energy ministries and CEOs of NOCs outlining the energy strategy employed in each North African country. Senior representatives from the Ministry of Industry, Tunisia; ETAP; Ministry of Oil and Gas, Libya; NOC, Libya; Ministry of Energy and Mines, Morocco; will outline investments being made in each oil and gas sector, discussing long term strategies to enhance economic development and assessing demand versus supply resources.

In addition, two panel discussions will be conducted.  The first panel discussion will compare and contrast the common objectives of each state to gain a better understanding of their market needs. The second panel discussion will focus on the security risks faced within the region with regards to the personnel and energy infrastructure assets that need protecting.

Day one of the summit will also see the European Bank of reconstruction and development (EBRD) discuss how they support oil and gas projects in the southern and eastern Mediterranean; as well as other topics such as the Nawara project, non-technical risks and requirements within the oil and gas industry, and successful educational programmes within ENIT.

Day two of the Summit will see speakers addressing issues relating to successful cooperation between IOCs and NOCs, optimal conditions for business partnerships including cutting edge technology and experience, the European Investment Bank answers how to tackle the energy challenge in the Mediterranean countries, and global oil and gas market trends.

The second half of day two will be completely dedicated to Country Roundtables where NOC and government representatives from Algeria, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco and Mauritania will delve into the specific challenges faced by the country in a free and open forum.

The Algeria roundtable will be supported by a Senior representative from Sonatrach; Partner, King & Spalding; Country Manager, Petrofac, General Manager, OMV Tellal Hydrocarbons and Business Director, Repsol Exploration.

The Tunisia roundtable's key participants include, Country Chairman, Shell Tunisia; Corporate Social Affairs Vice President, BG TUNISIA; General Manager, OMV Tunisia; Chairman and CEO, CANDAX Energy Inc.; representatives from the Ministry of Industry Tunisia as well as Directeur Central Production, Directeur Exploration and President and CEO of ETAP.

The Country roundtable dedicated to Libya will see senior representatives from Ministry of Oil and Gas Libya; Board Member, NOC Libya; Reservoir Engineer Superintendent, Zueitina Oil Company; Senior Reservoir Engineer, Harouge Oil Operation; Reservoir Engineer Superintendent, Arabian Gulf Oil Company; Management Committee Chairman, Waha Oil Company; Gas Development Committee Chairman and Petroleum Law Committee Chairman of NOC Libya be a part of the discussion specific to Libya.

The Morocco and Mauritania roundtable will feature General Director (Tunisia, Morocco and Mauritania), Baker Hughes; Senior Representative, Ministry of Energy and mines, Morocco; Offshore Senior Project Manager, ONHYM; General Manager, SMH; and the Vice President (Mauritania & Egypt), TOTAL as part of the roundtable.

Day Three will commence with a session summarizing the findings from the North Africa Unconventional Seminar followed by a discussion about the Offshore HSSE success factors; review of the latest offshore farm-in opportunities in Mauritania; deep-water opportunities in the Moroccan Atlantic margin and; specific discussions relating to various fields the Satir field, the Intisar field and the Ennaga field.

Organized by The Energy Exchange and held under the patronage of the Ministry of Industry in Tunisia, the 2013 North Africa Oil and Gas Summit is co-located with the North Africa Unconventionals Seminar and the North Africa Downstream Summit.
