His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research under the Decree No. 133 dated 8th July 2013 has renewed the Educational License of Ajman University. With effect from 1st June 2013 until 31st May 2018 Valid for the next 5 years. This decision comes on the recommendations of the Commission for Academic Accreditation. Experts visited the university regularly to ensure and assess conformity to the standards and criteria's of the licensing authority.

Mr. Osama Salman, Vice President of the University extends his deep gratitude to His Excellency Shiekh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan whose earnest efforts to develop and raise the standards of higher education in UAE are remarkable and truly commendable for they will put the UAE higher Education at par with international academic values. Mr. Osama Salman stressed that this decision is also a renewal of the Ministry's confidence in Ajman University as a leading educational institution in UAE and the region and its commitments to its values and principles of education at international standards. AUST harnesses its entire potential and expertise to serve the students interest to the best of its ability. He also pointed out that this decision is also a great motivator for future more robust endeavors and would propel the institution to greater achievements.

Earlier the Ministry announced the list of Universities and institutions of Higher Education whose programs are licensed and accredited. Ajman Universities 44 Specialized departments have been accredited which includes 32 undergraduate and 12 graduate programs.

Its worth mentioning that AUST is the first private institution of Higher Education at the state level, which was issued an Emiri Decree in 1988 by His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuiami, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman. It commenced with its first batch of students in September 1988. In 1997, Resolution no. 54 issued by Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research changed the institution from the University College of Ajman to Ajman University of Science and Technology.

The past 25 years of the University's life has witnessed immense growth and today it holds and cherishes a prominent place amongst other higher educational institutions in the UAE and the region. It's a house of expertise and a center for academic and intellectual excellence which provides the job market with all rounded graduates. With over 27,000 graduates in various disciplines and programs and the organization of major Scientific Research conferences and seminars AUST has carved its niche in the higher educational field and earned stellar reputation.
