Sony Global Ambassador Davide Monteleone to highlight his photography journey Dubai, UAE, February 6, 2017: Dubai, United Arab Emirates: In a week designed to inspire, challenge, and connect photographers and enthusiasts from all over the world, Sony Middle East and Africa is hosting the Sony Photo Friday at Gulf Photo Plus (GPP) Photo Week 2017. GPP Photo Plus is the first and longest running photography festival in the region and will take place from 10th to 17th February at Alserkal Avenue in Al Quoz. The Sony Photo Friday, a day full of activities that include technical and inspirational talks as well as creative panels led by some of the world’s leading photographers, will be held on 10th February. A total of four photography sessions will be held that will tackle a variety of topics such as pushing the boundaries of travel photography, demystifying celebrity photography, new frontiers in photo essay, and the power of Photoshop and Lightroom among others. A keynote address entitled ‘A Personal Distance’ will be given by Sony’s Global Ambassador, Davide Monteleone, a three-time World Press Photo prize winner, on 12th February at 7 pm, wherein he will highlight his journey as a world-renowned photographer. At the session, photographers and enthusiasts will have the opportunity to learn how to make a career out of photojournalism and win a Sony α6300. Meanwhile, seven dedicated Sony snap sessions will also be held at GPP wherein guests and visitors can loan Sony α6300 cameras free of cost to use during the trainings. Led by Katarina Premfors, Anna Shtraus, Kate Hailey, Ruta Jurkuvenaite and Neil Corder, these photographers will provide photography workshops on storytelling & visual arts, live performances, natural light portraits, fashion shoots and food photography. Throughout the seven-day event, Sony will also showcase its flagship cameras from the leading Alpha and RX series. Among the products that will be on display are the α6500 camera with APS-C sized image sensor, full frame image sensor α7R II, α99 II and the Cyber-shot RX100 V. At the Sony stand, visitors can also have live shoot comparisons for all Sony cameras and G Master lenses such as 24-70mm F2.8, 70-200mm F2.8 and 85mm F1.4. Sony will also display images that were part of the Sony World Photography Awards. At Sony stand, visitors will receive complimentary sensor cleaning for Sony cameras and lenses throughout the GPP Photo Week and can also avail any of the special offers given throughout the event.
