Samsung is in its sixth year at GITEX Shopper. With virtual reality (VR) being a key element this year, the Samsung pavilion will have a dedicated VR Theatre, including 4D motion chairs, to maximize the experience delivered by the Gear VR. A 360 Cabin dedicated to the Gear 360 will also be present, where visitors can opt to have high-quality 360-degree photographs taken. The engine of the newest edition of the Gear VR and the latest flagship in Samsung’s growing mobile ecosystem, the Galaxy Note7, will also be on display. A digital pond that will showcase the water-resistance feature of the phone is set to be a crowd puller, with a unique fishing game with the phones that tests the IP68 rating. The Galaxy Note7 can last on up to five feet for up to 30 minutes in fresh water. The Gear S3 smartwatch that was launched at IFA recently will also be on display, although the official launch won’t be until later this year. C. Purushothaman, Head of Marketing (Smartphones & Tablets), IT & Mobile Division at Samsung Gulf Electronics commented, “As with every GITEX, we are committed to showcasing our best product innovations to consumers, with a growing range that is tailored for Gulf consumers. Visitors stand to benefit not just from unique product offers across our consumer electronics but to also have distinct experiences that will be both informative and entertaining. We expect our VR offering to be a huge draw, an area Samsung has made several trailblazing achievements in over the past year. We have also been driving several cross-industry opportunities to maximize value for consumers, for example with product partnerships with FitnessFirst for our wearables segment including the latest GearFit2 and IconX, among lifestyle and fashion tie-ups for our flagship smartphones, the Galaxy Note7 and Galaxy S7.” With the Galaxy Note7, users can connect with a number of devices including tablets and the recently-introduced Gear Fit2 and Gear IconX wearables. Now with a wider field of vision, from 96 degrees to 101 degrees, the new Gear VR sports a USB Type-C adapter that connects with the phone. The adapter is also interchangeable to Micro USB, making it compatible with the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. At GITEX Shopper this year, Samsung will also have its other world-class products including the latest tablets, SUHD range of TVs, AddWash washing machines, TwinCooling refrigerators, printers and audio-visual appliances. Its pavilion will be located in Sheikh Saeed Hall 3- 1 at the Dubai World Trade Center.
