February 25, 2016: The Abu Dhabi Central Post Office is popular with customers for express mail services (EMS), parcels, registered mail and P.O. Box services, recording an average footfall of 2,500 customers per day. In the non-postal field, the most popular services are payment of electricity bills of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, payment of telephone bills and applications for International Driving License.

Chief Commercial Officer of EPG Mr. Ibrahim Bin Karam said:  “The Abu Dhabi Central Post Office offers high quality services, based on Universal Postal Union (UPU) standards, including a diverse range of postal and courier services and parcels, as well as the P.O. Box service. It also offers third-party services, enabling customers to pay water and electricity bills of all emirates; payment of Etisalat, Du and RTA services; US Visa service; National Bonds, Instant Cash, Western Union, ticket reservations for budget airlines (flydubai and Air Arabia) and International Driving Permits. Delivering such diversified services under one roof offers great convenience to our customers.”

He added that the strategic location of Abu Dhabi Central Post Office, close to Gold Centre and Zayed Centre, attracts hordes of individual and business customers.

The Abu Dhabi Central Post Office has 30,550 P.O. Boxes, and this attracts customers throughout the day as well as at night, for collecting their mail. The strongest demand is for EMS and parcels. The volume of parcels is an average of 3,500 parcels per month.

The growing demand is an indicator of the new direction posts are taking in response to market requirements. EPG is constantly trying to upgrade the services provided to individual and corporate customers, Bin Karam added.

“In view of the dramatic overall development witnessed by Abu Dhabi as the country’s capital city, EPG has to keep pace with the growth through innovative and new services. We are constantly expanding our post office network in response to demand, while at the same time ensuring highest levels of customer satisfaction through regular training programs for the staff,” said Bin Karam.
