Dubai, United Arab Emirates, January, 24, 2016: The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) honoured today its medical team who were deployed across various places in Dubai to ensure health and safety of the people during New Year Eve celebration events in the city. The medical team included those who provided high-quality health services to those affected by the Address Hotel fire.

At a ceremony that took place today at the DHA auditorium, the Authority felicitated doctors, nurses and technicians.

His Excellency, Humaid Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of the DHA  thanked the team for their exemplary service and highlighted that medicine is one of the most noble and prestigious professionals.

He thanked the medical staff who ensured that those affected by the fire were provided immediate and high-quality health service.

He highlighted that Dubai is a dynamic international city and that public health and safety is important for the Authority and that the DHA spares no effort to be an integral part of huge events and activities to provide high quality medical care to those in need.

He said recent examples of such events where DHA medical teams were deployed included global village and the Dubai Marathon.

Al Qatami added that the Authority is proud of its staff, who work in silence and contribute to the safety of participants taking place in various activities and events in Dubai.
