Having exceeded its original target by more than 25%, the initiative continues to drive donations in support of Al Jalila Foundation. Dubai, UAE – 3 August 2026: Cycle Against Cancer has successfully completed its extraordinary 3,333-kilometre endurance ride from Barcelona to Paris, raising AED 2.4 million in support of Al Jalila Foundation. The expedition brought together cancer survivors, business leaders, and members of the UAE cycling community, many riding in memory or honour of loved ones affected by cancer. Over the course of 25 days, the team of 15 riders cycled across Spain and France, conquering more than 54,000 metres of elevation while carrying a shared mission; to raise vital funds for cancer care and demonstrate the power of resilience and community. Having successfully achieved the original fundraising target, Cycle Against Cancer has now increased its fundraising goal. Donations remain open, to enable even greater support for Al Jalila Foundation's cancer care programmes. While the extraordinary physical challenge has now concluded, the initiative continues its mission to encourage individuals and organisations to contribute towards improving the lives of those affected by cancer. To celebrate the successful completion of the expedition, Cycle Against Cancer will host a gala event in September for its riders, partners, and supporters, recognising the collective effort behind the initiative while celebrating the community that rallied behind the cause. Guido De Wilde, founder of Cycle Against Cancer and stage 4 colon cancer survivor, said: "When we started planning this challenge, we knew the ride would test us physically, but what has stayed with me most is the generosity and belief of everyone who chose to support us. Watching people rally behind this cause has been a powerful reminder that no one has to face cancer alone. While reaching Paris was a proud moment for the team, the greatest achievement is knowing that every donation will help bring hope and support to people who need it most. We have raised our fundraising target because this movement is bigger than one ride, and we want to keep that momentum going for as long as possible for Al Jalila Foundation's critical cancer care programmes." Inspired by founder Guido De Wilde's own experience overcoming stage 4 colon cancer, Cycle Against Cancer was created to transform endurance into action and remind people affected by cancer that hope, resilience, and support remain within reach. The successful completion of the Barcelona-to-Paris expedition reinforces that message while generating lasting impact for cancer patients across the UAE.
