Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 1, 2015: The Middle East Cleaning Technology Week is set to return from November 2 to 4, 2015 against the backdrop that GCC is witnessing an unprecedented growth in the cleaning and hygiene industry. The AED 80 billion industry is estimated to touch AED 300 billion by the year 2020. The exhibition will be held in the Dubai International Convention Centre. The need for expansion of the cleaning and hygiene industry could never be stronger. GCC countries are placing strong emphasis on the cleaning and hygiene industry, increasing potential opportunities for cleaning and hygiene companies to grow. As per the Environmental Performance Index 2014 the UAE is the 25th cleanest country in the world, followed by Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at #35 and Kuwait at #42.

Dubai Municipality and Bee’ah have extended support to MECTW’s ‘Unsung City Cleaning Heroes’. Six cleaners from Dubai and Sharjah will be awarded for their dedication to maintaining the cities’ cleanliness.

“There have been advances in every vertical of the cleaning and hygiene industry, especially with the importance of implementing sustainable cleaning technologies in the region. UAE is leading the GCC region, with being the cleanest country in the region. MECTW has been conceptualised to bring together under one roof, the developing cleaning industry. The Expo aims to raise awareness about eco-efficient cleaning technologies, practices and services amongst professional and potential buyers in the region,” said Jayaraman Nair - Chairman, VIS.
