Global Launch of Stunning New Publication by Rizzoli and World Jewelry Facets 2015 Dubai, October 7, 2015 - Last night Swarovski staged a unique two-day launch event during Paris Fashion Week to celebrate the global release of a new publication by Rizzoli celebrating its 120th anniversary, as well as the World Jewelry Facets 2015 exhibition. The crystal company transformed the baroque splendor of the Salons France-Amériques into a state-of-the-art exhibition space to present some of the unique pieces from the Swarovski archives which appear in the book. Four different areas each focused on a creative industry: Fashion, Jewelry, Performance and Design. The jewelry section was mostly dedicated to World Jewelry Facets, a creative platform curating the best of contemporary fashion jewelry design, with an additional display of key statement pieces from the Atelier Swarovski archives as well as the cutting-edge jewelry and accessories line’s upcoming collections. The two-day retrospective exhibition shows off a multi-faceted world where the past, present and future of the 120-year-old crystal house co-exist in one luminous space, bringing to life the pages of Swarovski’s celebratory book. The cocktail reception on Wednesday evening featured a special performance from singer and model Caroline Vreeland, great grand-daughter of fashion icon Diana Vreeland, whom Atelier Swarovski honored through a Legacy Collection back in 2013. Caroline performed two of her original songs - including upcoming single “Black Summer” - as well as two covers which enchanted the evening’s illustrious guests. This incredible exhibition and cocktail reception served several purposes: - Celebrating Swarovski’s 120th anniversary by presenting the richness of its history to the most influential crowd across all creative industries. The ephemeral exhibition included crystallized dresses from some of the world’s leading fashion houses, such as Christian Dior, Valentino, Givenchy, Fendi, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Alexander McQueen, Viktor&Rolf, Hussein Chalayan, Alexandre Vauthier and Iris Van Herpen, as well as and monumental crystal structures by leading design talents such as Fredrikson Stallard, Vincent Van Duysen, Diller Scofidio & Renfro, Tord Boontje, Fabien Baron and Yves Behar. - Launching Swarovski’s lavish new book celebrating over a century of collaborations with some of the world’s finest creative talents. Published by Rizzoli and with contributions by globally renowned commentators Suzy Menkes, Alice Rawsthorn, Vivienne Becker, Deborah Nadoolman Landis, Deyan Sudjic and Colin McDowell, Swarovski: Celebrating a History of Collaborations in Fashion, Jewelry, Performance, and Design tells the extraordinary story of how Swarovski crystals became a prized creative ingredient used by designers and coveted brands around the world. - Celebrating the best of contemporary fashion jewelry design through the creative platform World Jewelry Facets, which debuted in Shanghai in 2010 and represents a tribute to the technical mastery and creative vision of the designers who partner with Swarovski.
