Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 10 February, 2015 - Boehringer Ingelheim, one of the leading pharmaceutical companies, announced the appointment of Sherif Khattab as Head of Oncology for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa (META) region. Based out of the region’s hub office in Dubai, Dr. Khattab will be responsible for the strategic growth of the Oncology unit, formulating and building ground for launch of Boehringer Ingelheim new oncology products in the region, and developing a solid and operative oncology team across the META region. With nearly 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Khattab brings valuable expertise in oncology drug penetration and commercialization. With Boehringer Ingelheim’s oncology pipeline evolving, the establishment of the new Oncology unit for META demonstrates the company’s continued commitment to advance the disease area in the region. Dr. Khattab most recently served Norvatis Oncology, Middle East cluster where he launched and led the local manufacturing project and grew the strategic portfolio for Oncology. In his previous assignments, he has assumed senior roles at, AstraZeneca, Schering-Plough and Eli Lilly Scientific office rebuilding the oncology unit and providing brand support to the MENA oncology franchise.
Dr. Sherif Khattab is a medical doctor by education with Clinical Oncology practice background, his MBA studies were in double majors, Marketing and Strategic Management from German University in Cairo.
