Dubai, United Arab Emirates, January 21, 2015: His Excellency Engineer Essa Al Maidoor, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) recently received a Finnish delegation, led by Susanna Huovinen, Minister Of Health and Social Services Of Finland. The high-level delegation consisted of 23 representatives from 17 Finnish companies. The two sides discussed ways to explore and enhance mutual cooperation between the two countries in the field of healthcare. Al Maidoor provided an overview of the Dubai Healthcare system and highlighted the high level of quality healthcare available in the Emirate of Dubai. He also discussed the growth of the health sector and the various healthcare investment opportunities in the emirate. The delegation discussed cooperation between Finland and Dubai in specific fields of healthcare including wellness promotion, prevention and management of diseases such as diabetes, cancer screening, mobile health services, long-term cooperation in demanding surgery (for example through the Visiting Doctors Program) During the meeting the two parties agreed to explore mutual cooperation in healthcare and gain from each other’s expertise as well as share knowledge about important healthcare developments.
