Dubai Health Authority (DHA) sets up donation boxes for Tarahamu campaign at its health facilities.

Pledges to continue donating medicines worth  AED 2 to 3 million per month throughout the duration of this campaign.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, January 19, 2015: The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) in cooperation with Emirates Red Crescent has set up donation boxes for the Tarahamu campaign across its health facilities.

The Authority has also pledged to continue donating medicines worth  AED 2 to 3 million per month throughout the duration of this campaign.

The campaign set up under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, aims to raises funds to provide aid to refugees and those affected by the snowstorm ‘Huda’ that’s sweeping the Levant region.

HE Eng. Essa Al Maidoor, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority, said: “We are pleased to cooperate with Emirates Red Crescent for this humanitarian campaign. Donation boxes have been set up at the DHA headquarters, DHA hospitals and some primary healthcare centres; so that people can donate clothing, blankets and all items that are needed to provide relief to people suffering from the snowstorm in the Levant region.”

Donation boxes have been set up at Dubai Hospital, Rashid Hospital, Latifa Hospital and Hatta Hospital, the drop-off boxes are also available at Nad Al Hamar, Al Barsha, Safa and Al Mizhar primary healthcare centres. People can also pick up empty cardboard boxes from these locations and fill it up with clothing and other essential items, and then drop it back to the health facility.  All items collected will be handed over the Emirates Red Crescent.

In addition to this, the DHA has pledged to continue providing medicines worth AED 2 to 3 million per month throughout the during of this campaign. ”

Mohammed Abdulla Al Haj Al Zaroni, Manager of Emirates Red Crescent, said: “We thank the Dubai Health Authority for their support. So far, cash and kind  donation worth AED 235 million dirhams has been collected for the Tarahamu campaign. We thank people and all institutions in the UAE for their generous contribution and we encourage people to make use of this opportunity and donate clothing and other essential items at the drop-off boxes set up by DHA.”
