A whopping 150,000 pledges taken towards good health in Aster initiative

DUBAI, January 15, 2015: More than 150,000 pledges have been recorded globally from the My Health My Pledge initiative of Aster DM Healthcare. The programme, which rolled out in November 2014, has scaled to record-breaking heights in encouraging people to take a pledge as the first step towards healthy living.

My Health My Pledge is a global campaign that has been designed to encourage people to make a small change in their daily routines and lifestyles that would have a larger impact on their health in the long run.
The initiative has attracted the interest of many, including many well-known personalities from around the world. The initiative is expected to set a new Guinness World Record for the maximum number of health pledges taken by the public.

Speaking on the campaign and the overwhelming response it has received, Dr. Azad Moopen, Chairman and Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, said: “It is heartening to see that people around the world have been encouraged through this campaign to take a proactive step towards better health. We often find it difficult to take that first step, which is also the most crucial, towards our health. This campaign aims to help people to take that first step by making a promise to adopt a small healthy ritual. That could be anything, from taking the stairs instead of the elevator or switching to a fruit instead of chips, which would eventually determine better living and good health. We certainly hope that the pledge will not stop here, but go on to make a healthier world for all of us.”

Engineer Essa Al Haj Al Maidoor, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), H.E. TP Seetharam, Indian Ambassador to the UAE; H.E. Grace Relucio-Princesa, Philippine Ambassador to the UAE; H.E. Edward Hobart, Consul General of the UK in Dubai, Mr. Jamal Majid Bini Thaniah, Vice Chairman of DP World; Indian film actors Ajay Devgan, Nana Patekar, Jayaram, Kapil Sharma, Ali Asgar and Arbaaz Khan, to name a few.
