Gold's Gym welcomes dance master Beto Perez's high-octane Zumba master class to Yas Island

Gold’s Gym, the largest international gym chain in the world and a member of Al Ahli Holding Group in the UAE, is the Official Gym Partner and a Sponsor of Beto Perez’s explosively entertaining Zumba Master Class coming to the du Forum, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi on October 24, 2014. As a sponsor, Gold's Gym plays an important role to support the Abu Dhabi Centre for Autism, which is benefiting from the event.

Perez, who hails from Cali Colombia in South America, is the founder of the Zumba® dance and fitness craze. Story has it that Perez forgot his usual aerobics music tape for a group exercise class he was leading. With a class to teach, he dug into his bag to come up with a cassette tape of Latin dance music that he liked working out to. Lively beats filled the room as Perez drew on his professional dancing experience to lead his class through fun steps combining dance and aerobics. Thus was born Rumbacize - later rebranded as Zumba.

Zumba is Colombian slang for “to move fast and have fun.” The aerobics workout is famous for its Latin-inspired dance steps - combining salsa, merengue, cumbia, reggaeton with influences such as Soca, Caribbean hip hop, Flamenco and Samba.

Perez is Director of the National Zumba Master Trainer Team (ZES). The professional dancer has choreographed for high profile celebrities such as Shakira, Vanilla Ice, Daddy Yanky and Pitbull.
