GE Oil & Gas highlights advanced technologies to maximize ethylene production efficiency at Ethylene Middle East Technology Conference & Exhibition 2014

Manama, Bahrain; October 19, 2014: GE Oil & Gas (NYSE: GE) is showcasing its advanced technologies to maximize the production efficiency of ethylene at the Ethylene Middle East Technology Conference & Exhibition 2014.

The Platinum Sponsor of the event, GE Oil & Gas’ Downstream Technology Solutions (DTS) division will be demonstrating its capabilities in the refining and petrochemical segments. The products featured include GE’s process centrifugal compressors, turboexpanders for ethylene plants, hypercompressors for LDPE production and state-of-the-art centrifugal pumps. Through its participation, the company is underlining how it pushes the boundaries of technology to create new possibilities for its downstream customers.

In addition to featuring its technologies at the GE  pavilion and in the delegate welcome lounge, GE will offer a series of thought and technical presentations, including a keynote address on optimizing profitability by Hasan Dandashly, VP of DTS, and Alberto Rostagno, Marketing Executive of DTS, presenting ‘Ethylene Projects Risk Reduction.’

Riccardo Fabbri, Services Project Leader, will present a detailed case study of the ‘Versalis Priolo Ethylene Plant Major Upgrade Project’, in which GE was recently recognized by the International Project Management Association (IPMA) with its Project Excellence Gold Level Award. The Priolo project in Sicily, Italy was a strategic investment for Versalis to improve the energy index, production line capacity, and maintenance availability while minimizing production downtime. Ethylene plants in the Gulf region many times have similar requirements and constraints on expanding or upgrading existing plant facilities as well.
