Rosewood Abu Dhabi becomes first UAE hotel to receive Welcome Chinese Gold certification

Hotel announces plans to open Chinese restaurant in response to growing demand from Chinese tourists 

Abu Dhabi, October 15, 2014 - Rosewood Abu Dhabi announced today that it has received the Welcome Chinese Gold Certification from the China Tourism Academy (CTA), the first UAE hotel to do so. The certification attests Rosewood Abu Dhabi’s compliance to the highest standard of hotel requirements defined by the CTA. To cater to growing demand from Chinese travelers, Rosewood Abu Dhabi has also unveiled plans to open a Chinese restaurant at the property in 2015. 

Welcome Chinese is an innovative standard of services specifically crafted to make Chinese travelers feel at home at hotel properties around the world. To qualify for a Gold certification, a property must provide dedicated Mandarin-speaking staff, broadcast Chinese channels, offer a traditional Chinese breakfast and tea-making facilities, as well as a Welcome Chinese kit in every room. 

Luigi Romaniello, Managing Director, Rosewood Abu Dhabi said: “The Welcome Chinese Gold Certification represents Rosewood Abu Dhabi’s significant efforts to create tailored offerings for our Chinese guests. Working closely with the China Tourism Academy, TCA Abu Dhabi, and our offices in China, we have developed strong ties with the Chinese market since our opening in May 2013.”

“We are seeing growing numbers of Chinese tourists selecting the capital, and specifically Al Maryah Island, as their destination of choice. In January this year, we commemorated the Chinese New Year with traditional festivities, hosting around 300 Chinese guests in the run up to the celebration. To further cater to our Chinese guests, we are planning to open a Chinese restaurant at the property in early 2015,” he added.
