Dubai, United Arab Emirates; October 12, 2014- With the rise in nursing care and hospital administration tasks, Panasonic Marketing Middle East & Africa expects an increase in demand for robotic solutions in the regional healthcare industry. At GITEX 2014, the company unveiled its two new generation robots- RESYONE that helps care receivers to transfer safely between their bed and wheelchair with the help of only one care giver; and HOSPI that redefines medication dispensing in hospitals. RESYONE, the robotic bed, consists of an electric care bed that transforms into a move-around sofa where the patient can be transferred by just one care giver easily without having to lift the care-receiver. The other unveiled product is called HOSPI which is an autonomous delivery robot that helps with transportation of medication and lab sample collection 24/7 in hospitals. Aiming to unburden the pressure on hospital staff especially when the number of staff is less, Panasonic’s HOSPI work is not limited to one floor delivery since he can deliver items to multiple levels in hospitals. Both RESYONE and HOSPI reflect Panasonic’s commitment to support, enhance and simplify healthcare with the help of technology. Yasuo Yamasaki, Director, System Solutions & Communication Division, Panasonic Marketing Middle East & Africa, commented: “We believe that the automation of hospital systems can help the staff to dedicate themselves to their primary work since with HOSPI, we bring hospitals a much needed relief to assist in day to day administration tasks to offer better care to patients. HOSPI acts as a smart and friendly helping hand and guarantees optimum dedication to both patients and staff. On the other hand, we are trying to bring care receivers and the elderly, help to lead a more independent life by using robotic bed like RESYONE,” he added. The smart HOSPI robot avoids obstacles, calls the lift, gets on/off the lift efficiently while also smiling and greeting during its travel to the destination. With enough storage to accommodate six medication A3 size trays, HOSPI can transport various objects like commonly used medication, blood and urine samples by just pressing a destination button while assuring the stability of movement which made him better than Pneumatic tube while delivering anticancer drug and urine samples. Additionally, to ensure security, only staff with authentication ID cards can open the storage while a built-in camera captures the images set ahead of HOSPI and can be reviewed if necessary. Use of RESYONE not only saves time, energy and the burdens of lifting and moving patients but also helps them to avoid being in a stationary position for long periods of time. Furthermore, it decreases pressure on the body of the patients while moving. The RESYONE is a certified robotic device for nursing care and it is considered as a safe and easy way for a single care-giver to conveniently handle the mobility of the receiver, thus paying undivided attention to the needs of the receiver.
