Dubai Health Authority to launch ‘Dubai Doctors' app at GITEX 2014.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, October 6, 2014, 2014: The Dubai Health Authority(DHA) will showcase several smart healthcare services including a ‘Dubai Doctors’ app at GITEX 2014.

His Excellency Engineer Essa Al Maidoor, Director-General of the DHA, said: “DHA’s smart health strategy is in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transform Dubai into a smart city so that customers  have access to smart services that are convenient and can be accessed through various kinds of technology.

“Today with the various apps available, customers can access information and avail of services at their convenience, any time of the day. Through the introduction of such focused apps, we aim to provide users with  convenience which directly results in enhanced customer experience.”

Amani Al Jassmi, Director of Information Technology at the DHA, said: “ The ‘Dubai Doctors’ app is a service under the umbrella of DHA’s smart health services portfolio. The app will benefit both residents and visitors interested in information about health facilities/ professionals available in Dubai.”

She said users can search a doctor, a health facility and have complete access to information about all public and private hospitals in Dubai, DHA primary health centres and DHA medical fitness centres. “ For example, a user searching for a dentist around his/her residence, will get a detailed list of professionals/ facilities either as a list or map view, as per the user’s preference.

“ The user can also like or unlike the doctor/facility after seeking their service and this feature has been built in to rope in community feedback of health services in Dubai.”

She added the app will be available on multiple platforms including iOS, Android, Windows and Blackberry.

In addition to this app, the DHA will also launch a patient-centric app, known as Sehhaty, at GITEX 2014.

Visitors at the DHA stand at GITEX will be able to learn about DHA apps and its plethora of features. DHA will also provide visitors on-the-spot free screening for blood pressure, blood sugar etc.
