Dubai, UAE; July, 2014: The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated Authority for culture, arts, and heritage, extended its support to the Ela Jary Ramadan programme, through a seminar at the Cultural & Scientific Association at Al Mamzar.

A socio-cultural initiative that aims to revive communication and strengthen relationships among neighbours, Ela Jary also aspires to promote peace and social responsibility among community members.

The seminar was held under the theme of the importance of dialogue between neighbours in the community and residential neighbourhood; how this dialogue has transformed over the past; and the current landscape of dialogue between neighbours. The sessions culminated with recommendations and solutions to bridge the gap in communities.

Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD), and Director of General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, presented a seminar on the diverse nationalities that reside in Dubai and their impact on communication in society.

The seminar was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hasher Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum and Sheikh Dr. Abdulaziz Al Nuaimi, as well as several other officials from both the government and private sector. Dubai Culture honoured Sheikh Dr. Abdulaziz Al Nuaimi, the Cultural & Scientific Association, media, and the partners of the event.

Saeed Al Nabouda, Acting Director General, Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, said: “To promote further community engagement, it is important for government entities and private sector organisations to take the lead in strengthening relationships between neighbours through initiatives that truly encourages respect.”

Dubai Culture is committed to enhancing awareness of culture and arts by fostering robust dialogue with the public to generate interest in the cultural sector, and contribute to promoting global dialogue on culture and arts.
