Abu Dhabi 2 July 2014 – The UAE daily Al Fajr editor Dr.Sherif El Bassel has won the prize in a periodic tourism contest organized by Abu Dhabi-based hotelandrest.com website. The prize involves a free one night stay with free meals at Crowne Plaza hotel Yas Abu Dhabi and was handed to the winner by the website manager Mrs Haneen al Dawoud at the office of Iris Media, which owns the website. She said that Dr Sherif won the prize from among more than 5,000 contesters and wished good luck for the participants in the upcoming contest. Mrs Dawoud noted that the contest is intended to promote tourism in the UAE, encourage visitors and readers to explore key sites in the country and spread the travel and tourism culture among the public.
