KNOX takes center strange as Middle East embraces enterprise mobility

Dubai, UAE - 23 February 2014 - Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., will showcase its enterprise solutions at this year’s IDC-CIO Summit, where the company is a summit partner. The 7th IDC-CIO Summit will tackle challenges posed by the 3rd platform in ICT the pillars of which are Mobile, Cloud, Social business, Big Data / Analytics & Security. More than 200 of the Middle East’s chief information officers and IT heads are expected to attend.

First among them is Samsung KNOX, a pioneering security platform that helps IT administrators to overcome challenges imposed by IT Consumerization that has threatened integrity of enterprise data at work.

KNOX was specifically designed to help CIOs overcome the traditional vulnerabilities of mobile devices and the Android operating system. The mobile application platform leverages the existing security features of the device’s hardware and its operating system to deliver a secure Android platform, enhanced management policies and a set of business-specific features. The mobile enterprise solution also complies with US Government and Department of Defense standards of information security and has introduced 133 new policies, primarily in the areas of security and enterprise integration.

The KNOX platform has been adopted by major corporations in key developed markets, including the General Directorate of the Abu Dhabi Police. Abu Dhabi GHQ became the world’s first homeland security organization to adopt Samsung KNOX.

KNOX is now commercially available on the GALAXY S4, Note 3 and Note 10.1.
