Do not raise your eyebrows this November when you see hitherto clean-shaven men sport moustaches, not meant to be trendsetting this month, but a mustachioed ‘Mo-Bros'-propelled movement ‘Movember' that aims to get men discuss male-focused health issues. This movement took off in Australia in 2004, where men grew moustaches for the month to raise awareness about screening for Prostate Cancer. Results indicate that major cause of Prostate Cancer arises through lifestyle changes and unfit body conditions. In lieu of the same, leading fitness major in the UAE, Fitness 360 is urging residents across the Emirates to simply MOVE their bodies to keep issues pertaining to the disease at bay. The fitness institution recommends 30 minutes exercise every day to stay fit in addition to non-consumption of sugary drinks and energy-dense food. Variety of vegetables, fruits, whole grains and legumes such as beans are recommended. “Limit consumption of salty foods and don't use supplements to protect against cancer. Men can protect themselves against Prostate Cancer through balanced lifestyle choices and diet,” says Steve Johnson, Chief operations officer at Fitness 360. The overriding objective for Fitness 360 is to provide a holistic approach that doesn't just stop at a work out, but also propagates and promotes healthy living that goes beyond the time spent at the club. The vision is to make fitness achievable for every person and not just the elite. Being a part of the Movember movement, Fitness 360 aims to raise awareness on Prostate Cancer among the UAE residents, also offering them valuable information on how to manage the disease and ensure they develop the skills and confidence to lead healthy, happy and productive lives. So let's all get together this MOVEMBER and fight against Prostrate Cancer!
