Winner of Arab Idol season two present for du and Anghami premium service launch Dubai, UAE, 21 October 2013: The Arab world's musical sensation, Mohammed Assaf, thrilled his fans during an appearance at du's GITEX 2013 stand (#Z-F10), on 21 October. Mohammed met with fans after an exclusive meet and greet with 10 du competition winners, during his appearance to mark the launch of the telecom's collaboration with Anghami music, to introduce exclusive benefits for its mobile customers. Mohammed shot to fame during the second season of Arab Idol that aired on MBC1, during which he earned critical acclaim and a massive global fanbase. Nicknamed ‘The Rocket' by the show's judge, Ragheb Alama, he went on to win the competition, after which he was named a goodwill ambassador for peace by The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), as well as being appointed Ambassador of Culture and Arts by the Palestinian government. Anghami is a free app that provides access to music on-the-go, with millions of songs available to users. An upgraded version of the app, offering unlimited music and offline listening is available for AED5, typically payable through app stores or by credit card. Through the new collaboration, du's customers will be able to upgrade for just AED3 per week, which will be charged to their mobile bill or deducted from their mobile balance, thereby removing the need for credit card transactions.
