DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – 13th October, 2013: Communications technologies are set to account for 76 percent of the UAE's $40 billion ICT spending between 2013 and 2015. A similar trend can be expected in other Middle East countries with government spending continuing to account for a large portion of ICT investments. Networking vendor, Brocade, is aiming to capitalize on this and is specifically targeting government and public sector organizations with its newly released Brocade® ICX® 6450-C switch for campus networks. These high-performance campus networks support applications such as video conferencing, real-time collaboration and distance learning. Additionally, with the explosion of smart devices and rising user expectations, these networks must also support wireless access in a secure and efficient manner. The highly-compact fan-less ICX 6450-C switch boasts enterprise-class CLI and management features for full functionality, and enables advanced management features through Brocade Network Advisor. Security was also a key factor in the design of the Brocade ICX 6450-C switch. The study showed that SDN's benefits are perceived to be increased productivity (42 percent), better access to real-time information (40 percent), improved uptime/availability (38 percent) and increased service delivery (30 percent). The Brocade ICX 6450-C switch incorporates open standards and SDN principles to deliver secure integrated wired and wireless mobility solutions for enterprise and public sector customers. Powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE), the switch can be easy deployed in work environments or remote locations. The Brocade ICX 6450-C is priced at $1595 and is available direct, through Brocade channel partners and via Brocade Network Subscription.
