26 June 2013, Abu Dhabi, UAE: Rotana Jet, the growing airline from United Arab Emirates, will increase capacity on its services to Sir Bani Yas Island from 01st August 2013, with the addition of two more flights per week, the airline announced today.

The flights, which will operate between Al Bateen Executive Airport in Abu Dhabi and Sir Bani Yas Island on Sundays and Wednesdays, will increase the total number of weekly flights serving Sir Bani Yas to 5.

The additional Abu Dhabi – Sir Bani Yas flights RG 115 will depart Abu Dhabi Al Bateen Executive Airport at 0900 hrs and arrive in Sir Bani Yas Island at 0940 hrs. The return flights, RG 116 will depart Sir Bani Yas Island on the same days at 1500 hrs and arrive in Abu Dhabi Al Bateen Executive Airport at 1540 hrs.

“This increase in capacity in one year's time of our operation to Sir Bani Yas Island, where we flew over 10,000 people, demonstrates Rotana Jet's continuing commitment to the destination.” said Rajendran Vellapalath, Rotana Jet's Commercial and Planning Director. “These additional flights will enable more people to visit the island, whether to spend a day exploring the Arabian Wildlife Park, experience many of the leisure activities in the island or for overnight stays,” he added.

The two new flights will be operated with Embraer Jet aircraft in a single class configuration, adding 250 seats each way per week on the route.

Sultan Al Mahmoud, TDIC's Executive Director of Strategic Performance, said: “Rotana Jet's additional flights to Sir Bani Yas come at exiting times for TDIC, with the opening of new developments on the island, among them, the new Anantara Sir Bani Yas Al Yamm Villa Resort that was launched last week. This increase in flight capacity will not only provide greater accessibility for a wider audience seeking an alternative-stay experience, but is also a testament for the island's increasing popularity.”

Guests can choose from various activities, ranging from a nature and wildlife drive, or enjoying a range of land and water-based activities such as the ones provided by Sir Bani Yas stables or the water-sports centre. Those seeking to be pampered can take advantage of the Anantara Spa, or wishing to extend their experience can book a stay at either the Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara or the Anantara Sir Bani Yas Al Yamm Villa Resort.

For business travelers, the Desert Islands Conference Centre is ideal for corporate activities, such as team building exercises, while those planning events can take advantage of its conference hall, which can accommodate up to 540 guests.
