11th October 2016 - Habtoor Grand Resort, Dubai: The 7th Annual Waste Management Middle East Forum witnessed huge response during its inaugural launch yesterday. The focused outset of the forum was to implement integrated and effective sustainable waste management practice in the Middle East region.

The day one session, was commenced with an opening remark from the events chairman - Peter Neuschaefer, the Operations Director of DORSCH-Qatar. Following his opening remarks, Eng. Naji Al Radhi, the Head of Waste Treatment Section from the Waste Management Department of Dubai Municipality, produced a keynote inaugural speech on 'Medical Waste and Hazardous Liquid Waste Treatment projects' which were undertaken by the Dubai Municipality.

Peter Neuschaefer from DORSCH-Qatar, also supervised a chairman session that primarily focused on utilizing Green Technologies to save water, energy and to maximize sustainability. Later, Ivano Iannelli, the CEO of Dubai Carbon spoke about the Economic Value of Sustainability . Alexander Maddan, the CEO of Agrivert Limited took the opportunity to speak about the methods used to manage Organic Waste, while, Sarfraz Dairkee, the Board of Directors Secretary for EmiratesGB, UAE briefed on how 'Waste could be treated as a Resource'. With this, the first half of the day one program was successfully concluded.

Post lunch, Yasir Mahmood-Environmental Protection Team Leader for ADMA-OPCO, engaged in discussing the On-site Waste Converter Technology for Offshore Installations and following him was Steve Bailey - the Development Manager of Anaergia-UK, who shared his insights on how to improve energy efficiency and recovery. Finally, to wrap up the proceedings on day one, the event chairman Peter Neuschaefer of DORSCH, Qatar highlighted the Conference's Takeaways and also presented his closing remarks.

The conference is supported by Dubai Municipality. Sponsors and exhibitors also demonstrated their innovative solutions and technologies at the conference. BEKON and Westinghouse Plasma Corp are on board as the silver sponsors while Agrivert has joined as the Associate Partner for the event. Tarpomatic, Diesoil Engineering AG and ARAFIN joined the Waste Management Middle East Forum as the Exhibiting Partners, while Arab Recycling Company, Suez and Sutco Recycling Technik are Visiting Partners. UNIDAAN and Red Kite Waste are participating as Technology Partner and Networking Partner respectively.

While cherishing day one's massive success, participants are to be educated furthermore about the benefits and outcomes of implementing waste management strategies on the second day. To briefly highlight the upcoming proceedings - Peter Neuschaefer, the Operational Director of DORSCH-Qatar will present the opening remarks. Following that, the participants will be presented with insights and discussions from Mr.Salem Mubarak Al Braik - Environment Agency of Abu Dhabi, Ismahane Elouafi, the Director General of International Center for Biosaline Agriculture, Paul Williams - Material Handling Manager of Emirates Steel UAE and from Ashraf Sameh, the QA/HSE Manager for Renaissance Services SAOG-Oman.

To make the forum even more thoughtful and engaging, audience will be benefited from panel discussions, case studies, round table discussions, which will shed light on the challenges faced in the region and how to implement the desired strategies to overcome them. Overall, the forum will educate participants on the crucial aspects that are currently hindering the development of the region and focus on eliminating the factors responsible for the rapid generation of waste in the GCC region.
