EPG hosts ‘Healthy Children 2021' activities at Children's City

Dubai, December 28, 2015: Emirates Post Group organized sports and health awareness activities for kids at the Children’s City under the “Let us Run”, as part of its support to the National Program for Government Communication which has been launched to tackle core issues facing society through nation-wide, intensive awareness campaigns with the aim of bringing positive changes to people’s lives.

Among the activities hosted by EPG was a 100-metre race for children in which the winner was given a trophy. The venue also hosted a health awareness campaign in which children were given free tests for sugar, diabetes, bone density and obesity. There were also kiosks for healthy foods which sought to education the kids on wholesome eating habits.

EPG Chief Commercial Officer Ibrahim Bin Karam said: “The National Program for Government Communication aims to raise awareness in society about healthy lifestyle choices by effectively utilizing innovative communication channels to reach out to citizens and residents across the UAE. At EPG we are fully committed to this mission and very pleased to target kids who are the main sufferers of today’s lifestyle changes.”

The National Program for Government Communication is an umbrella for several national issues that will be addressed according to a scheduled agenda, extended over the next seven years and culminating with the UAE Vision 2021.

The ‘Healthy Children 2021’ program is being held under the slogan ‘2021 Step’ and will act as an innovative platform to showcase a wide range of awareness raising activities on the importance of health, particularly focusing on dietary habits—helping reduce the proportion of obesity among today’s children to 12 per cent by the year 2021.
