Dubai, October 22, 2015: Dubai Courts Department (DCD) participation in GITEX Technology Week 2015 showcases the huge leaps it has taken in smart transformation, that it has become able to electronically deal with customers through its website or across smart devices, and its services are now available anytime, anywhere. The DCD’s stand boasts a variety of electronic devices and smart applications offered to help customers complete their transactions easily and quickly, among which are: Nibras electronic device, Nibras app and Public Notice. Nibras Navigation System is the first-of-its-kind in the Middle East. It displays 3-D map of the courts to guide visitors through its corridors, halls and departments. It also provides information and a bundle of services, including electronic procedures, case follow-up, and access to about 400 services through Dubai Court portal. The DCD has provided two Nibras devices in the Central Services Hall at the courts headquarters, and two others in branches of the Public Notary in Al Tawar and Barsha. Nibras app features include: search for destinations in the courthouse, court proceedings, service guide, information about judges assistants (marriage officials, lawyers, experts and translators), case follow-up, session agenda, search for laws and legal principles, inquiries about Notary Public attestations, Public Notices and court’s auctions. The Public Notice device, on the other hand, is used to electronically publish public notices of cases, in both English and Arabic, in a number of local newspapers in case the defendant address is not known. The service allows getting information relating to case type, date, and number, in addition to names of the concerned parties and public notices. Customers can benefit from this service through mobile phones anytime, anywhere. Alternatively they can visit the courthouse to utilize the self-service Public Notice and make advantage of the payment feature, whether in cash or by credit card. Abdulrahim Almudhareb, IT Director at Dubai Courts, said that providing smart services comes in line with the DCD’s efforts to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction and reinforce the wellbeing in the community. “These services are an important addition to the bundle of electronic services designed to support the government’s smart transformation approach and realize the leadership’s clear vision of making Dubai the smartest city in the world over the coming years. They represent a qualitative leap in terms of facilitating procedures and saving time and effort to complete public notice process and notify defendants of unknown address.” Al Mudhareb commented. “We will spare no efforts to launch more unique smart services to realize our vision for pioneering in the courts work. We look to satisfy the public and improve efficiency and reliability of the government performance in support of Dubai Plan 2021 towards a “pioneering and excellent government” to meet future needs.” He added. During its participation in GITEX Technology Week 2015, held in Dubai World Trade Centre from 18-22 October, within Dubai Smart Government pavilion under the theme of 'Future Courts, Innovational Services for a Happy Community', the DCD highlights new smart and electronic services, including 10 smart platforms. These are added to the facilities offered via DCD’s portal with the aim of simplifying services, facilitating customers’ access to them, speeding up litigation and increasing Happiness Index for clients and staff.
