Muscat, Oman, April 2015: Following its successful engagement with the Sultanate of Oman’s Ministry of Manpower, the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA Singapore) under the auspice of the Information Technology Authority of Oman, will be focusing on working closely with Omani companies and government bodies to share experience, expertise and knowledge.
To this end, IDA Singapore is bringing five successful tech companies from Singapore to COMEX to meet with Omani businesses and government officials to collaborate on future initiatives. These companies include: Simple Solutions Systems, V3 Teletech, SQL View, Crimson Logic and Quantum Inventions. From smart mobility solutions, data analytics platforms to e-government and intelligent transport solutions, these companies will be presenting a wide array of technologies that will be critical in a Smart Nation journey.
Singapore and Oman are very similar in many aspects; one of the key similarities is that both nations are interested in leveraging ICT as key enablers to derive social and economic benefits for its citizens and businesses. With this aim in mind, one of the key roles for IDA in Oman is the exchange of ideas with Omani businesses and the Government of Oman on Singapore’s Smart Nation journey.
Singapore aspires to be a Smart Nation, one that will improve the quality of life for individuals and business opportunities for enterprises. In a Smart Nation, we also seek to create an anticipatory Government that can better serve our citizens and better able to use technology to enhance public services.
Commenting on IDA Singapore’s presence at COMEX, Tan Lark Yang, Head of the Singapore Delegation & Group Director for IDA-International said, “Oman is the gateway to the Middle East and has so much to offer in terms of a young, educated and entrepreneurial population. We are keen to support this developing tech and business environment with our resources. Technology is constantly changing and it is important to have the right tools in place to ensure successful adaptation to this change, and this is the know-how we are looking to share with Omani businesses.”
The IDA Singapore and participating companies can be found at Singapore Pavilion at COMEX, which is taking place at the Oman International Exhibition Centre from 27 April to 1 May 2015.
