11th March, 2015 On the 09th of March 2015, UAE was awarded the hosting rights for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup finals by the executive committee of the AFC during its meeting in Manama, Bahrain. UAE has organized a series of high-profile sport events, including the 1996 Asian Cup, the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship, the 2009 and 2010 FIFA Club World Cups and the 2013 FIFA Under 17 World Cup. UAE will stage its largest and most prestigious football tournament. The 2019 Asian Cup has expanded from 16 to 24 national teams. This success could place the UAE as one of the leading sport destinations in the world and showcase UAE’s capability of hosting major global sport events. “Some of the key factors to host a successful event that could create a legacy through the 2019 Asian Cup would include Building & Maintaining Fan Engagement and Sports Marketing, to ensure good audiences turn out and viewership. The venue management would also play a critical role that could create a lifetime experience for the audience. The Pre and post event impact would also open newer avenues for the tourism sector .
