Activities, social media friendly app builds on small victories under Every Step Counts campaign Dubai, UAE, November2014: The improved du Wellness App is taking mobile health to the next level! Now even more localised and with more social engagement to the fitness functions, the du Wellness App gives users the power to monitor their lifestyle anywhere and everywhere, without the need to sync with wearable fitness devices, and invite friends to be part of their fitness journey. What differentiates the app from other existing fitness ones in the market is the ability to involve friends within the app to get fit together. Users can set activity-based challenges (such as a walk or run) to motivate friends and get fit together. Designed specifically for the UAE, the GPS-driven app pushes relevant notifications such as the location of a mall or park in the near vicinity. Users will get news of physical activities that they can take up in these locations, or challenge others, and win points. They can also post the results on their social media accounts through the app. With the revamped du Wellness App, health-conscious customers can directly track their activity and nutrition. The app will monitor the number of steps taken without needing to sync using either Apple’s inbuilt M7 motion processor for iPhone 5s and above, or a custom, du-developed tracking algorithm for iPhone 5 models and below. The nutrition section of the app also features more local Arabic food, empowering users to choose healthier options by providing them information they need to make the choice.
