Monday 13th October 2014 GITEX Edge, the biggest and most important tech event in the Middle East opened yesterday at the Dubai World Trade Centre with a glittering awards party celebrating the winners of the GITEX Hot Stuff Awards 2014 in conjunction with Motivate Publishing's market-leading consumer electronics magazine, Stuff. Held in Dubai each October, GITEX Technology Week showcases the greatest new gadgets in the region. The GITEX Hot Stuff Awards, now in its second year, celebrated the opening of the event by toasting the winners of the award categories that were recently announced at a party hosted by Stuff Magazine. Amongst such winners were LG G3 for ‘Phone of the Year’, Apple Macbook Air for ‘Laptop of the Year’ and Philips Hue for ‘Smart Home Gadget of the Year’. The LG G3 was also awarded the title of ‘Gadget of the Year’ from Stuff magazine.
