RIYADH, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia– August 28, 2014 – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Department of Zakat and Income Tax (DZIT) has announced a transformation of its revenue collection with SAP. The Kingdom, a member of the G20’s leading economies, is rapidly developing its knowledge-based economy, with the DZIT collecting SAR 20 billion in revenue in the first half of 2014. Supporting the Kingdom’s rapid economic growth, SAP and systems integrator Invenio are providing the DZIT with the integrated business software platform to make revenue collection faster, more efficient, and more accurate. “By gathering and analyzing Big Data from a variety of sources, the Kingdom’s Department of Zakat and Income Tax can match and mine data to find irregularities and potential fraud, which in turn would increase government revenue,” said Ahmed Al-Faifi, Managing Director, SAP Saudi Arabia. “The SAP HANA platform will also enhance citizen services by supporting DZIT’s online and mobile expansion.” In May 2015, the DZIT will deploy the SAP Fraud Management and SAP Public Sector Revenue Management solutions, powered by the industry-leading SAP HANA platform. SAP has deployed these solutions in more than 70 countries around the world, and localized them to the Kingdom.
