Popular dragons from Skylanders to roar to life at the World Premiere of Skylanders Spyro's Adventure

04 August 2014 - With the 17th edition of Dubai Summer Surprises in full swing, families and visitors from around the world have the opportunity to enjoy a number of world-class entertainment in malls and other climate-controlled locations in Dubai.  

One of the events that is set to captivate families this DSS is the World Premiere of the Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure that will be held at City Centre Mirdif and City Centre Deira. Children will be able to watch their Skylanders action heroes come to life through an electrifying live show featuring the action figures in their first ever live performance, exclusively for DSS.

The interactive live show will include fun musical elements, and will feature Spyro, the ever popular purple dragon hero, who is set to soar across the stage via cabling and go head-to-gill with the brave and courageous Gill Grunt and his water cannon. Kids and grownups alike are sure to enjoy the thrill of adventure, as the two delightful dragons from the successful video game franchise set out on their adventure in Dubai.

The Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure will kick off its international debut at City Centre Mirdif from 7 - 17 August with the dragons coming back with a roar at City Centre Deira to enthrall families from 21 - 31 August, and  promising to make this DSS an exciting summer experience for all their fans in the city. The three 20-minute live shows at both the malls will be held at 5pm, 7:30pm and 9:30pm daily. 

Skylanders is rated as one of the top 20 video game franchises of all time in 2014. The Skylanders figures outsold all top action-figure lines worldwide in 2013 for the second consecutive year, with more than US$200 million in retail sales. 

Organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), DSS 2014 from 2 August to 5 September will be offering visitors and residents a fantastic summer festival packed with valuable shopping deals and fun-filled, family-oriented entertainment throughout the city, under the theme, ‘The Fun Side of Summer’.
