United Arab Emirates, Dubai, September 24, 2013: The Dubai Health Authority recently received a high-level French delegation that visited the DHA headquarters. H.E. Engineer Essa Al Maidoor, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority received the French delegation that included H.E. Eric Giraud-Telme, French consul-general in Dubai and Benoit Tamalet, regional conselor for health- Middle East, French Embassy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The two parties discussed ways to enhance mutual cooperation between the two countries in the field of healthcare. HE Al Maidoor said: “In today's globalised world, exchange of best practices is the way forward, especially in the medical field which is ever-evolving and thus it is essential to keep up with the latest trends and practices in medicine. We look forward to opportunities for mutual cooperation and ways to strengthen this existing relationship.” He said that DHA collaborates with healthcare institutions from across the globe and that the key parameters for the DHA are quality, innovation and most importantly patient-centered care. Telme discussed the long-standing bilateral relations between the UAE and France and he spoke about the growth of the health sector in Dubai and discussed ways of mutual cooperation. Tamalet provided an overview of the various partnership opportunities in the field of healthcare. Al Maidoor added that Dubai's strategic location, excellent infrastructure and business friendliness has made the emirate a gateway to the Middle-East. Al Maidoor also provided an overview of the medical sector in Dubai and highlighted some of the key fields in which Dubai has achieved significant success. UAE and France already have several collaborative initiatives in place in terms of the medical field and the aim of the meeting was to explore further healthcare opportunities.
