Union Coop: Back-to-School Campaigns Will Revive ‘Retail'

The popular campaign will not only boost the retail sector but will increase footfall to shopping centers during the 'August’ month

Dubai, UAE: Union Coop confirmed that retail markets, sales outlets, and shopping centers will witness significant demand during the month of August due to the ‘Back-to-School’ campaigns that are currently being prepared by sales outlets. They expect sales to grow as usual during this month as every year, attributing to the end of annual vacations and the return from holidays, as well as the preparations for the new academic year.

In its monthly report, the Union Coop stated that the variation in back-to-school marketing campaigns between sales outlets and e-commerce platforms will intensify the competition, leading to positive and diverse sales percentages from one outlet to another. It is expected that discounts of up to 50% or more will be offered on some school supplies, stationery products, backpacks, and school essentials, in addition to reductions on food items that are still being offered by retail centers. This is due to the sustained demand for these products at the same pace from all segments of society.

The cooperative stated that the back-to-school season is considered a prime event for the retail sector and numerous sales outlets, shopping centers, and e-commerce platforms in the country. They organize major promotional campaigns for this annual event to add more joy to the new academic year, granting shoppers, especially families, an opportunity to enjoy these atmospheres and promotional offers. It was pointed out that stores are now coming up with innovative ways to provide a distinctive shopping experience with exclusive offers and varying discounts, sometimes reaching up to 60-70% off on several items.

The report also emphasized that shopping convenience and competitive prices are fundamental factors influencing consumer habits and behaviors when choosing a shopping destination. Therefore, the focus should be on providing the best shopping experience for consumers through all major retail centers and outlets. This will lead to the creation of a comprehensive shopping destination where consumers can find all the necessities they need.

The retailer stated that increasing offers and major promotional campaigns related to schools, which are launched on both online platforms and in physical stores, will have positive effects, providing shopping alternatives, attracting consumers, and boosting sales figures.

The Cooperative also mentioned that it has allocated specific discounts and offers for the 'Back to School' campaign. Special campaigns for this purpose will be launched in successive periods throughout the month of August. These campaigns will include discounts on school bags, stationery, and computer devices, as well as various offers on food items. They highlighted that they have devised a marketing plan for discount offers during different seasons, enabling consumers to meet their needs at reasonable prices.
