• 50 percent off and more offers reiterate great value and variety
• Customers invited to give back to the community thanks to Géant partners - Emirates Red Crescent and Al Noor Training Centre for Special Needs
Dubai, United Arab Emirates: GMG Everyday Goods’ retail division, embraces Ramadan this year with a host of themed activations promising great value, variety and convenience in the run up to and during the Holy Month.
The “Ramadan feeling” is in abundance across 16 Géant and 21 aswaaq supermarkets with a unique store ambience that showcases the spirit of the season. Shoppers can avail 50 percent discount or more on everything from fresh and dry food to electronics and homeware as well as unbeatable offers on Ramadan staples like oil, canned goods, pulses, rice and dates. During the month, shoppers will find discounts up to 70 percent on certain items on select dates.
The holy month’s accent on generosity and compassion gets top priority and in this regard, Géant and aswaaq have partnered with Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) to provide a host of options for customers to give back.
Head to your nearest store to shop and drop for a good cause. Géant and aswaaq customers can buy commodities and essentials from the store and drop them at a designated area in select stores. Emirates Red Crescent will ably donate and distribute these on their behalf to the needy in the UAE as well as 31 other countries. You can also make cash donations at the checkout counters across all stores, with every AED 5 donation contributing one meal to a family in need.
Alternatively, Géant and aswaaq shoppers can also purchase iftar meal boxes for just AED 11.95 and support the Zakat Al Fitr initiative whereby shoppers can provide a contribution to purchase rice that will also be donated to those in need.
Aswaaq’s ongoing partnership with Dar Al Ber’s Fils al Kheir initiative continues and enables customers to donate the small denominations (Fils) from shopping bills to charitable societies, where collected amounts are donated annually on Zayed Humanitarian Day to the Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department. Shoppers can also support the Endowment initiative, where aswaaq will donate a percentage of profits from the purchase (Ã) Alef branded products for diabetes research at Al Jalila Foundation.
Enhancing its existing partnership with Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs, Géant and aswaaq stores will also be selling beautiful co-branded cotton bags showcasing artworks of Al Noor students.
“During Ramadan, we expect the usual surge in sales of food, grocery and home appliances as well as gift items. We remain committed to providing the best deals and offers across stores. But this year we’ve gone beyond the conventional, truly creating an environment where customers can practice the holy month of Ramadan in a myriad joyous and wholesome ways,” said Marc Laurent, President, Retail - Everyday Goods at GMG.
“We are giving so much more than the excellent quality and service to the communities by appreciating and understanding their needs . With our strategic partnerships with Emirates Red Crescent and Al Noor Training Centre for Special Needs, we are also encouraging our customers and members of the public to step into our stores and give back during the holy month.”
“For added convenience, our Ramadan offers will also be available online at aswaaqonline.ae. Further to this , the Géant and aswaaq product range is also available through aggregators like Instashop, Talabat and NowNow for door to door delivery,” he added.
