Mansoor Al Awar: We will continue to build our youths’ creative energies, intellectual capabilities and analytical skills in preparation for the next 50 years

27 July 2021 - Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) recently concluded its courses on entrepreneurship and scientific research which is being administered through the National Ambassadors Program ‘Estedad’. The UAE’s first-of-its-kind ‘Estedad’ initiative was launched by the Ministry of Education as part of its summer online academic activities in 2021. It was established for the learners to gain the right knowledge and be equipped with advanced research, leadership, and diplomatic skills, thus enabling them to help shape and anticipate the future.

In line with its continued commitment to qualify new generations of entrepreneurs, researchers, scientists, and innovators, HBMSU successfully organized the two virtual courses titled the “Scientific Research Methodologies: Concepts and Skills” and the “Entrepreneurship Fundamentals” through which 48 students and four teachers from the UAE’s Ministry of Education have been graduated.

The courses attracted high interest from the region as evidenced by the enrolment of nine Saudi students. This reflects the strong confidence of the regional and international academic societies in HBMSU as a top academic institution that has been at the forefront of reshaping the future of higher education and scientific research in the region. ‘Estedad’ was successfully implemented amid the university’s full support for the program.

As part of its role, HBMSU provided the participants with access to its smart library via its Smart Campus. The smart library is an integrated information centre built to meet the research, administrative and educational needs of modern-day learners. It features a comprehensive portfolio of electronic databases, web resources, HBMSU publications, and other specialized educational resources and high-quality research materials to enrich the overall learning and research experience of the students.

H.E. Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of HBMSU, said: “Taking part in ‘Estedad’ shows our proactive efforts to produce the country’s future knowledge ambassadors, innovators, scientists, entrepreneurs, decision makers and leaders, in line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and President of the University. We are pleased to be part once again of the national endeavours to make the Ministry of Education’s program a success. ‘Estedad’ plays a role in building an innovative generation armed with modern scientific knowledge and skills. This generation can help make the UAE one of the best, most innovative, and developed nations in the world. A large number of participants from the UAE and Saudi Arabia further cements the university’s position as a global institution with a unique educational model designed to reshape the future of higher education. HBMSU is a driving force that prepares our young generations for the future by arming them with modern tools, knowledge, and skills. Through this, we allow them to anticipate and keep pace with the rapid global changes, especially in the areas of development and knowledge

Al Awar added: “We will continue to share our cumulative experience to help build a high-level education system that invests in our young people. Our wise leadership supports and trusts the youth of today as they serve as the fuel driving our journey towards the fulfilment of our dreams. Being part of ‘Estedad’ program for scientific research and entrepreneurship mirrors our belief in the importance of building relevant creative energies, intellectual capabilities, and analytical skills. These competencies are vital to our preparations for the next 50 years as we create a more secure, prosperous, and sustainable future. The success of the 2021 summer session motivates us to continue our cooperation with the Ministry, as well as transfer, share and employ our pioneering global experience to further enhance our education system. We will remain committed to producing the next generations of leaders with advanced technological and scientific knowledge and who are capable of making the UAE one of the best countries in the world by 2071.”

Since the launch of the virtual ‘Estedad’ sessions in the summer of 2020, HBMSU has been extending its innovative, intellectual, scientific, and technological capabilities, along with its high knowledge resources and cumulative experience, to ensure the success of the courses in entrepreneurship as well as scientific research.

The “Scientific Research Methodologies: Concepts and Skills” introduces the basics of scientific research, with a focus on analysis, problem-solving, decision making, and evaluation of results. The “Entrepreneurship Fundamentals,” on the other hand, focuses on critical and creative thinking, problem-solving, effective communication, cooperation, and initiative, all of which serve as the cornerstone of success in the world of entrepreneurship.
