UAE, 5th March 2019: Day one of the Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run saw the Flame of Hope burning bright across the streets of Fujairah as members of the local community turned up at landmarks across the emirate in support of inclusion and unity. Law Enforcement Officers from across the world, along with Special Olympics athletes began the day by carrying the Flame of Hope from Wadi Al Warayah Waterfalls to Al Hail Fort. The Torch Run then travelled to Emirates Flag Pole, Al Bidya Old Mosque, Fujairah Adventure Park, and Al Aqah Beach. Roads were closed for the last part of the Run where Law Enforcement Officers and athletes travelled 1.3km from Sheikh Zayed Mosque to Fujairah Fort for a closing ceremony at 4.50pm. Day two will see the Flame of Hope carried across a number of landmarks in Ras Al Khaimah, including Jebel Jais and RAK Museum, before a final ceremony is held at Al Qawassim Corniche at 5.30pm.
