Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 3, 2016: The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) will host the 2ndDubai Nutrition Conference, which will take place on 17-19 November at the InterContinental Hotel, Festival City. The three-day conference is hosted by the Dubai Health Authority and organized by MCI group. Dr. Waffa Ayesh, Chairperson of the Conference and Director of Clinical Nutrition at the DHA, said: “One of the major global health challenges is the growing burden of non-communicable diseases and it is a known fact that poor diet and lifestyle choices is one of the major triggers for NCD’s. Therefore, in today’s times the importance of nutrition awareness and education is particularly vital to prevent further escalation of NCD’s. This conference covers various aspects of nutrition and presents an opportunity for experts from around the global to share the latest information in the field of nutrition.” The topics covered will include nutrition for premature babies, use of probiotics for babies in neonatal ICUs, nutrition during the first 1000 days of life, nutrition and the growing brain, childhood obesity and how to curb its prevalence, hidden sugars in food and beverages and how modern life has added too much sweetness into one’s daily diet, nutrition for critically-ill patients and nutrition to help post-surgery patients with a faster recovery. Speakers from the UAE, Lebanon, Egypt, Croatia, UK, Canada and Malaysia will be presenting at the conference. Dr Ayesh added that development of the field of nutrition is vital as it directly leads to better patient outcomes and a healthier community.
