The Body Shop Launches ‘Elixirs of Nature' Fragrance Collection in UAE

The unique collection features five rare and precious scents from the wild

Dubai, UAE, September 1, 2016:  Inspired by the world as a source of beauty, The Body Shop has launched a captivating collection of immersive eau de parfum inspired by some of the planet’s most precious natural scents. Aromas that without protection, might disappear from the world altogether. Using a non-destructive technology called ‘Headspace technology’, the essence of each illusive botanical is recreated without harm, allowing them to live on, just as wild as nature intended them to be.

The new line was launched at Mall of the Emirates in the presence of Vania Lacascade - Deputy General Manager, International Brand, The Body Shop. The event was also attended by famed beauty influencers hailing from Lebanon Emirates and Kuwait, garnering high fan excitement at the retail outlet.

Headspace technology

While the perfumes represent a rich diversity of countries; pristine topographies; changing landscapes; and untouched soils, the scents are united by the application of Headspace technology, in line with The Body Shop’s Enrich Not Exploit™ Commitment. This technology is based on cocooning the plant, flower or wood in a hollow dome or glass sphere, and creating a vacuum where the fragrance compound emitted by the plant flower or wood can be sampled. The essence is then recreated and incorporated into a bottled fragrance, leaving nature untamed.

Five rare and precious fragrances

The ‘Elixirs of Nature’ range is the ultimate botanical mash up - recreating olfactory snapshots of some of the rarest and beautiful smelling plant species that blend perfectly with natural essences and extracts.

1.    NIGRITELLA
THE ALPS, SWITZERLAND

Nigritella is luxuriant floral fusion of Red Vanilla Orchid, enhanced with a hint of tuberose and vanilla for fiery sensuality. The fragrance instantly transports you high in the Swiss Alps where this plant blooms. The profusion of hot floral exhalations, nectar and pollen makes for an opulent oriental fragrance that seduces with every breath.

2.    KAHAIA
BORA BORA, POLYNESIA

A white floral bouquet starring the Kahaia flower, combined with an enticing bouquet of Jasmine Sambac and creamy Benzoin for a luminous touch. It is only during the nocturnal hours does the Kahaia bush emanate its most tranquil and luminous white flower scent.

3.    SWIETENIA
BANGALORE, INDIA

The subtle floralcy of Mahogany flower combined with a sparkling breeze of orange flower and bigarade leaf result in a delicate freshness. This fragrance instantly transports you to the humid planes of Bangalore, South India, as its scent keeps you vibrant and crisp on a balmy evening.

4.    BOWHANTI
FRENCH GUIANA, AMAZONIA

A spicy woody scent, Bowhanti from the Wacapou tree is combined with a smoky blend of patchouli and incense. This is a thoroughly modern spice fest with all the mythical enigma and allure of resonant woods and piquant notes. This fragrance will transport you to the French Guianan tropical rainforest.

5.    WIDDRINGTONIA
WESTERN CAPE, SOUTH AFRICA

A woody aromatic mash up of Clanwilliam cedarwood, with a warm trail of sage and vetiver for an earthy sophistication. It takes you to the species’ spiritual home in South Africa’s Western Cape: a breath of fresh air, blown through wood, at the summit of the Cederberg Mountain range. Widdringtonia is unique and definitively edgy on a daring woman.
