The region’s premier family and cultural entertainment destination receives recognition for its service in the Leisure and Entertainment industry
Dubai, UAE, May 4, 2016: Global Village, the region’s leading family destination for cultural entertainment and shopping, received the coveted Dubai Quality Appreciation Award under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, at the 22nd Business Excellence Awards organized by the Dubai Department of Economic Development. The Dubai Quality Award (DQA) is a process for recognizing role model organizations that excel in the areas of leadership, strategy, planning, human resources, partnership and execution. The selected companies are evaluated against similar companies within a specified industry to benchmark performance using a common framework of organizational excellence based on the EFQM 2013 Model or the Excellence Model of the European Foundation for Quality. This year, with the inclusion of the ‘Leisure and Entertainment’ sector, Global Village became the very first recipient of the award in this industry category. This comes as a result of the great achievements that Global Village has shown, with a high score of 9 out 10 on its Guests Happiness Index after welcoming more than 5.3 million guests during its 20th season. Looking at its key offerings, Global Village has scored 9.1 on its cultural and entertainment shows, 8.9 on pavilions experience and their variety, 9.2 on the international dining experience and 8.7 on the Fantasy Island experience. The destination is well known for providing unique and remarkable cultural and entertainment experiences for the guests of all ages that include an international shopping experience, exponential entertainment, a mouthwatering culinary experience, and the largest funfair rides in the region at Fantasy Island.
