Dubai, UAE, 6 April 2016: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has begun operations to commission, supply, and lay down a 73-kilometre (km), 600-1200mm water transmission network across Dubai budgeted at AED 444 million, with a 300km, 100-450mm water transmission network costing AED 210 million. The project will increase Dubai’s overall water flow, and meet current and future demand for water and provide better services to customers.

“These networks will manage the increasing demand for water in the Emirate, providing a high-quality infrastructure for Dubai’s sustainable development, based on the highest international standards. DEWA is implementing these projects based on its strategy to enhance its water services to meet all the requirements for development, and achieve the happiness and well-being of all Dubai’s residents,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
