Dubai, UAE - February 27, 2016: Global Village, the leading family cultural, shopping and entertainment destination in the region, is putting the focus firmly on children in February with the launch of ‘Kids Fest’ - its first ever entertainment festival exclusively targeting children. Kids are set to be amazed by the wealth and variety of attractions on offer at ‘Kids Fest’, that will run for 22 days from 1 Feb to 22 Feb. All of the events are free of charge and included in the price of admission to Global Village and will provide an incredible variety of activities during the festival. There will be an opportunity to personally meet some of the world’s most famous cartoon characters the Smurfs in person during the month. Papa Smurf, Smurfette and Clumsy will be appearing at the Roman Amphitheatre to meet guests up to four times a day for 30-minute sessions with exciting photo opportunities for all children. One of the standout attractions will be the return of the hit acrobatic show ‘Circus Circus’ - with performances set to leave children and their parents open mouthed in wonder at the fantastic song and dance they deliver. Circus Circus will excite the audience with 16 performers including the Colombian acrobats, members of the Global Village street team and resident performers - and of course accompanied by the colourful and ever popular Global Village mascot Globo. All set to transform the Main Cultural Stage into the amazing circus kids are waiting for. To ensure as much active participation from youngsters as possible, “Kids Fest” will see the launch of the ‘Global Show Academy’ which will comprise a 30-minute show that will run four times a day in the Roman Amphitheatre. It features five professional dancers who will run workshops for kids of all ages. They will learn a routine and even get a chance to perform it on the Main Cultural Stage later that evening in front of thousands of guests. Other activities lined up include face painting with 12 face painters, eight roving balloon modelers who will be creating free balloons -including kids’ favourite animal shaped balloons, and if that is not enough, Kids Fest will feature an amazing Globo shaped 110 ft. bouncy castle obstacle course that is guaranteed to get the kids active in the perfect family environment. The popular Emirati cartoon show, Shabiat Al Cartoon will return to the Main Cultural Stage with regular shows throughout the festival along with a meet and greet spots around the park. The fun doesn’t stop here, families are invited to enjoy the amazing firework displays every Thursday and Friday, in addition to the Parade of the World every Friday, while the dancing musical fountain shows will entertain the guests seven days a week. Fantasy Island will continue with more than 50 rides and skill games that will please the guests of all ages while rewarding the skilled ones with many toys and gifts in an unforgettable atmosphere throughout the festival. With an enhanced line up of entertainment, shopping and dining to commemorate 20 successful seasons of operation, guests at Global Village are entertained with a never-before seen line up of exclusive live performances, spectacular new rides, authentic international cuisines and indigenous crafts and merchandise from its 32 worldwide pavilions. This season, Global Village attracted a phenomenal number of visitors to its 20th anniversary edition - over 2.2 million guests have visited the region’s premier outdoor tourism attraction during first two months of operation of November and December of 2015.
