Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Director General, Dubai Information Department, the 20th edition of Dubai International Jewellery Week opened today at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). The four-day jewellery extravaganza will run from 9 - 12 December 2015, featuring collections from over 300 exhibitors from 25 countries.

The show has been re-launched with a focus on the consumer in its 20th year, and promises to be the ultimate jewellery shopping experience. More than 20,000 visitors are expected to make their way to the exhibition over the four days, where shoppers can look forward to choosing from a range of over 140,000 plus jewellery items and more than 50,000 new designs.

Visitors were wowed by the one million dollar worth stunning luxury clock on display at DWTC. MOISEIKIN’s Horn of Plenty Interior Jewel Clock, made with over 4,500 pieces of natural gemstones and high quality pearls is a colourful luxury timepiece that draws inspiration from an ancient Greek mythology, the Garden of Eden. The timepiece is one amongst many other stunning and exclusive pieces of jewellery at the event this year.

Other outstanding items on display are some of the world’s rarest pearls, with an exclusive pink conch pearl collection from the Caribbean sea from Al Anwaar Golden Jewellers. Internationally renowned jewellery designer Suzanne Kalan is showcasing her award winning piece from the Vitrine Collection which won the “Gem Diva Award” for bridal wear at the 2015 AGTA Spectrum Awards.

Jewellery aficionados can choose from international, local and regional exhibitors who are showcasing their collections at the show this year. Moreover, taking place daily at 7.30pm at Hall 5, are interactive jewellery and fashion workshops where visitors can be up, close and personal with their favourite stylists Joelle Mardinian and Wafa Toutounji. These workshops will guide jewellery enthusiasts to choose the right jewellery for their skin tone, face shape and even learn how best to accessorise for the right occasion.

For those interested in the dazzling world of gemstones, world renowned holistic therapist and wellness expert, Mariam Yasin is conducting workshops on the energetic properties of stones and crystals, why it is important to choose the right gemstone and much more.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see what goes into creating a piece of jewellery. Jewellery artisans from France will be demonstrating a 4000 year old technique of producing wax prototype by hand that is used to make the most beautiful and exquisite jewellery. This workshop will take place every day from 4.30 pm until 8.30 pm at Hall 5 of DWTC.

In addition, outstanding emerging and professional design talents are set to be recognised at this year’s Jewellery Design Awards, which is fast becoming one of the most prestigious and important jewellery competitions in the Middle East. Now in its seventh year, the Jewellery Design Awards are set to showcase significant achievements and talents of top designers in the UAE and beyond, providing a platform to help profile rising jewellery stars in the region.

The free to attend event also features fantastic promotions from exhibitors as well as daily raffle prizes to be won by visitors who could be walking away with beauty vouchers, sparkling diamond jewellery or jewellery certification vouchers.

“The show this year is geared towards the consumer. It is going to be a fun event which offers far more than the opportunity to shop for your favourite pieces of jewellery from exhibitors from all over the world, present under one roof.
