Nad Al Hamar and Al Barsha centre service a population of over 60,000 residents each. United Arab Emirates, Dubai, November 18, 2015: The DHA’s 24 hour health centres have received 313,250 patients from January to October this year, said a top DHA official. The two centres- Nad Al Hamar and Al Barsha serve a population of over 60,000 residents each. Dr Manal Al Taryam, CEO of Primary Healthcare at the DHA, said: “The aim of the 24 hours service is to provide patients with access to healthcare and reduce the pressure of non-urgent medical cases that the DHA hospitals emergency departments receive. From January to October this year, both the centres have functioned round-the-clock on all days including public holidays. The Nad Al Hamar health centre has received 154,049 outpatients and the Al Barsha Health Centre has received 159,201 outpatients.” Al Taryam said the aim of these centres is to enhance patient access to medical services and that this is in line with the DHA’s strategy to ensure easy access to efficient healthcare. In terms of the functioning of both centres, Al Taryam said that in addition to offering family medicine services, the centres have several specialized clinics which aim to provide primary healthcare services in line with international standards. The specialties at the centres include family medicine, gynecology, pediatrics, dermatology, nutrition, dentistry, chronic diseases, pre-martial testing, pharmaceutical services, and intermediate level urgent cases.
