Dubai, United Arab Emirates, October 20, 2015: Dubai Health Authority received today at GITEX 2015, the uptime Institute (UTI) Tier III Data Center design certification. The certification ensures that the data centre is designed keeping in mind the highest international standards. HE Humaid Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of the DHA, said: “ Dubai Health Authority is in the process of building a state-of-the-art data center which is located in the premises of Latifa Hospital. The data center will be used to host all DHA’s business applications and will be the primary datacenter for the DHA for the next ten years. It will be built keeping the highest international standards in mind and will be a green data center to ensure maximum energy efficiency and minimum environmental impact.” Amani Al Jassmi, Director of Information Technology at the DHA, said: “We are moving towards an environment where all our data is electronic. All health information systems, lab, pharmacy and other patient related information will be stored electronically in the data centre. Therefore, building a reliable system that does not have any single point of failure is priority.” Al Jassmi said that this is in line with the Authority’s smart initiatives strategy which is aligned to the Dubai’s smart city initiatives.
